Day 1

Beijing Arrive at Beijing Capital Airport, one of the world’s largest and most modern. You are met by our tours service staff and transferred by vehicle to your downtown luxury hotel. Meet your fellow travelers and tour manager at the Evening Reception for orientation and learn more about the upcoming sightseeing and activities. Raffles Beijing Hotel

Day 2

Beijing After a great breakfast our exploration in Beijing starts from Tiananmen Square– the world’s largest. Stop by the ‘Egg’ - National Performing Arts Center for a view of the modern exterior. Next, visit the Forbidden City, magnificent imperial palaces of Ming and Qing dynasties for almost 500 years. After lunch explore by pedicab some of beijing's iconic Hutongs(lanes) and the traditional family courtyards. Climb up the nearby Drum Tower or Bell Tower for an aerial view of the traditional neighborhood. Also visit the private home of a local resident to hear their life stories. Day 3

eijing Visit the Temple of Heaven early this morning.Observe Beijing residents doing traditional Taichi and other exercises in the well maintained park. Behold the beautiful Hall of Prayers, an ornate structure built of wood without using a single nail or adhesive. Stop by the lively Panjiayuan Market, a bustling place where buyers and vendors bargain hard over antiques, furniture, accessories, traditional arts and crafts. Return to hotel for own lunch and refreshing. Go to visit Summer Palace, enchanting imperial retreat of the Qing dynasty royal family and retinue. The Long Corridor, Marble Boat, Seventeen-Arch Bridge,and Longevity Hill are all structures of grace and beauty. Enjoy a boat ride on the vast Kunming Lake. Day 4

Beijing Put on your hiking shoes for an excursion to the extraordinary Great Wall of China. In the northern hills we visit the rugged and scenic Mutianyu sectionwhich better exemplifies the fine Ming dynasty era construction. Stop by a small mountain village for lunch and meet local rural residents. Return to hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to discover more of Beijing’s treasures or just relax. Day 5

Xi'an This morning, transfer to the airport and on the way, visit trendy 798 Art Complex to view some modern Chinese art created by some of Beijing’s best known artists. Fly west to Xi’an, the ancient capital of the founding Qin Dynasty and many of the subsequent dynasties. After refreshing in hotel, go to visit the massive Ancient City Wall and the nearby ornate Bell Tower. This evening, enjoy a special Xi’an Cuisine Dinner in a nice local restaurant followed by an elaborate Tang Dynasty Stage Show recalling the days when Xi’an was the largest city in the world. Day 6

Xi’an Take an excursion to see the extraordinary 2,200 year-old Terracotta Warriors of China’s first Emperor discovered in 1974 by farmers while digging a well. This archaeological excavation site is a stunning exhibit of more than 7,000 ancient terracotta life-size statues of soldiers, officers, horses,chariots, and other artifacts. Upon returning to the city in the afternoon, visit the elegant Big Goose Pagoda which has survived over a millennia of war and earthquakes. Day 7

Guilin-Longsheng Transfer to airport for a noon flight to Guilin. On the way, visit the Yangling Archaeological Site and Museum that displays priceless antiquities found in this imperial tomb of the Han Dynasty. Upon arrival in Guilin, one of China’s most scenic cities, transfer to hotel and refresh. Later, follow your guide on a city tour that includes an evening cruise through urban lakes featuring lights and bridges. Day 8

Guilin-Longsheng Guilin is home to some of China’s most beautiful landscapes, its jagged and lush limestone peaks and tranquil rivers create endless panoramas. After breakfast, travel by vehicle to mountainous Longsheng for a full-day excursion to see beautiful Rice Terraces and to visit villages of ethnic Dong and Yao peoples, two of China’s fifty five ethnic minorities. Some moderate climbing is involved so you will need comfortable walking shoes. Those who cannot hike can still enjoy the scenery utilizing sedan-chair service. Day 9

Guilin-Yangshuo-Shanghai This morning, board a pleasure boat for a relaxing yet stunning Li River Cruise. The cruise will give you an opportunity to savor the unique and scenic views of the area’s extraordinary landscape of sheer limestone peaks and tranquil waters that have inspired thousands of famous Chinese scroll paintings. Disembark in Yangshuo, a lovely tourist-friendly town lined with shops and restaurants serving international foods. Explore the lively street market and also visit a farmer’s village home nestled in the panoramic landscape. Return by vehicle to Guilin for a late afternoon flight to Shanghai. Day 10

Shanghai After breakfast in your hotel, head out to visit the classic Yuyuan Garden constructed in 1559 and the European Art-Deco architecture of the Bund. Gaze across the Huangpu River at the towering structures of the ultra-modern Pudong district. In the afternoon, visit the marvelous Shanghai Museum,whose well organized galleries contain world-class collections of ancient art and artifacts dating back millennia. The Bronze Gallery is probably the world’s finest, a must-see section. Then, wander in the former French Concession,represented by the leafy Fuxing Park and colonial era architecture. Stop at Xintiandi, a redeveloped old neighborhood now occupied by trendy pubs, coffee shops and galleries. After dinner in a local restaurant enjoy an astounding live acrobatic performance. Day 11

Shanghai In the morning of your last day in China, you will visit the 1555 foot high obersvation deck of the World Financial Center, the world's fourth tallest building.Next stop by Ohel Moshe Synagogue in the “old ghetto” to reflect upon the Jewish experience in pre-War China. Later, visit Tianzifang Art District for a peek at the local art scene and tour a couple of art galleries. Afternoon is free to explore dynamic Shanghai on your own. Tonight, fellow travelers all get together to enjoy a special farewell Shanghai Cuisine Dinner in an elite local restaurant. (B,D) The Peninsula Shanghai

Day 12

This journey begins in Beijing with an exploration of the beauty of the imperial city and meetings with urban Chinese residents. Discover the splendor of China’s glorious past: the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Great Wall; also witness the dynamic and ever-changing life pace in today’s capital of China. Fly to Xi’an, terminus of the Silk Road and once the largest city in the world. Visit and explore the Terracotta Warriors Museum in homage to China’s first emperor Qinshihuang, considered China’s preeminent archaeological discovery. Tour other sites such as Big Goose Pagoda, the Great mosque and City Walls in the ancient Tang Dynasty capital. Your itinerary also includes Guilin, Longsheng, and Yangshuo, the south China region of picturesque karst mountains rising from tranquil rivers and rice paddies. This is one of the most idyllic landscapes of China and your cruise down the Li River will reveal its sublime splendor. The last stop of your tour is Shanghai, China’s most populous city and economic powerhouse. The European Bund still retains the glamour of the colonial era; modern western pubs, galleries and boutiques fill central Shanghai. Visit the traditional Yuyuan Garden and spend some time exploring the Shanghai Museum, the best in China. Fly home from Shanghai.
