Day 1

Vientiane Arrival
On arrival in Vientiane, you will be welcomed by our representative and get transferred to hotel in Vientiane. In the afternoon, free to relax and enjoy an orientation walk around the hotel area or the guide will show you the river bank area where you could view the sun sink over the Mekong.

Day 2

Vientiane City Tour

Today we have a full day to explore Vientiane- the charming and fascinating capital of Laos , one of the classic Indo Chinese cities which conjure up exotic images, with its intriguing mix of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, American and Soviet influences. Our visit will take you to the key sites: National Museum, Wat Sisaket the city ‘s oldest surviving temple with thousands of silver and porcelain images in the gloriously authentic temple compound that offers you a glimpse into the Vientiane of the past, the next stop is Haw Phra Kaeo. The massive arch has a beautiful mosaic tiled ceiling and once at the top you can see for miles around Vientiane.  Meals: Breakfast.

Day 3

Vientiane – Vang Vieng

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then head north to the sleepy riverside hamlet of Vang Vieng, a small town next to the Nam Song River that is surrounded by jagged limestone karsts. Upon arrival in Vang Vieng, take a brief orientation tour of the city before you check in to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure to explore the town.  Meals: Breakfast.

Day 4

Vang Vieng – Luang Prabang

Following breakfast, drive to Luang Prabang (approx hours) with a stopover for lunch at Sala Phoukhou again. In the afternoon, we keep on going along the road 13 which has beautiful landscapes. Overnight in Luang Prabang.  Meals: Breakfast.

Day 5

Luang Prabang – World Heritage Site

Following breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the former king’s palace, which is now a museum. The many items nicely displayed include rare furniture, traditional costumes and arts, jewelry, ornaments as well as working tools and utensils of the early part of the 20th century. Then we embark on a tour of this enthralling town to visit Wats Xieng Thong, the Golden City monastery, which dates back to the 16th century and is considered to be the finest in Laos. Furthermore, we visit the fine temples of Wats Mai, Vixoun, and the national Stupa of That Luang. Later that day, we adjourn to the Phousi Holy Hill to enjoy the marvelous panoramic views of the town at sunset. Meals: Breakfast.

Day 6

Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave

Today, we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of WatSene and the magnificent WatXiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as explore the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where the local make the rice wine. On return, we take a short drive to Ban Phanom, a small village known for its hand weaving. Overnight in LuangPrabang.  Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 7

Luang Prabang – Khuang Si Waterfall

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession. From there you will visit the morning Phosi Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.
Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today you will visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Overnight in LuangPrabang. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 8

Luang Prabang – Departure

Have breakfast at the hotel then enjoy a free morning before driving to the airport to catch your departure flight home. Meals: Breakfast.
